Getting Your Weight Loss Back On Track

Lots of us make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight. We swear up and down that THIS time we’re really to shed those unwanted pounds. And around this time of year, there are just as many of us who may have lost five or six pounds, but we’ve simply lost our motivation!

Losing weight is hard work and requires commitment. If you’re weight loss plan has stalled here are some tips to get you back on track.

You’re not a failure! So get that out of your mind right now. Losing weight is not dependent on whether or not you’ve been ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Focus instead on the success you’ve had in shedding the first five pounds.

You already know how to lose weight and the proof is in the fact that you weigh five pounds less than you did six weeks ago. So you don’t need to learn anything new!

Don’t worry so much about what other people are thinking. Losing weight is a very personal matter, and although it’s great to have friends that motivate you, they can also hold you back with criticism and disapproval if they think you’re not losing weight fast enough.

Don’t advertise your journey. Again, losing weight is an individual matter. If you advertise to all and sundry that you’re on a weight loss journey, you’re really putting yourself under the microscope every time you go out. Do you really want those disapproving looks as you put regular salad dressing on your salad when you’re out for lunch with co-workers or friends? Of course not. Confide in a few close friends who are sympathetic to your situation, and perhaps even share your weight loss plan for themselves.

Get out, don’t hide. We want to lose weight because of the health benefits, but if we’re really being honest with ourselves, we want to lose weight because it will make us look better. But that’s no reason to hide yourself away until you shed the pounds no longer want. If we all did that, nobody would ever go anywhere!

Reward your accomplishments by treating yourself, not to a slice of chocolate cake, but perhaps a manicure or that new pair of sandals you’ve had your eye on. If you set realistic expectations of let’s say, one pound a week, a reward for every five pounds lost is a great motivator.

Stop watching The Biggest Loser. Although I applaud people who make the commitment to lose weight and get healthier, this show does nothing to create realistic expectations. I’m sure that most of us would look drastically different after weeks of isolation, eating a minimal diet, and exercising all hours of the day and night. But that’s not everyday life. Reality means jobs, kids, family and friends, all of whom require large amounts of our time. So don’t set yourself up for failure by trying to measure up to what is essentially entertainment.

Family Dieting: A Celebrity Weight Loss Solution

By Mario Ford

Have you ever thought about including family in your Weight loss Goal? This is a principal that works. One Hollywood celebrity has gotten great results from a Family Dieting. Queen Latifah, the rap star and actress has constantly battled with her weight. And her family has a high risk of diabetes and other heath issues. Currently serving as spokesperson for Jenny Craig, the healthy change was necessary. Queen Latifah chose several solutions to help create a healthier lifestyle. First she chose a proven celebrity weight loss plan to ensure her goal.

And since, studies show most people reach a goal when held accountable. She enlisted 17 family members, including her mother and relatives to join her weight loss goal. She describes her familys participation as a healthy competition. Latifah used family members as accountability partners; each would communicate and track the others progress.

Secondly, her weight loss regimen consisted of a 1500 calories diet. That diet included egg whites scrambled with potato skins in the morning, and a high carb meal in the afternoon and evening. Rotini and Meatballs were among her favorite high carb meals.

Knowing the key to most celebrity weight loss is exercise, Latifah chose a variety of routines to avoid boredom. Cardio, Pilates and yoga were among her schedule. She also included a 2 minute treadmill routine.

While she admits her goal was not to lose weight, but to stay healthy. The results of her goal are inspiring; to date Queen Lafitah has shed 20lb from her curvy frame. She has also lowered her cholesterol level by 20 points.

Together she and her family have lost a total of 250lb. This is proof that people on one common purpose can reach their goal faster. Why not pursue a healthy goal together with your family. This is one celebrity weight loss solution.
